AN American-based songbird and alt-pop multi-instrumentalist will take you on a dreamy journey with her latest single.
Tiphanie Doucet, a French soloist, has dropped her brand new, rock-tinged soundscape, entitled ‘You and I’.
The euphoric release, which is part of Doucet’s introspective five-track offering, Painted Blue, shows off her seductive vocals and sophisticated, lyrical imagery.
‘You and I’ also cleverly evokes passion, sensuality, and love without consequences.
Speaking about the track Doucet said: “I wrote ‘You and I’ with the context of a fascinatingly short but strong heartbreak.
“I noticed how blue I was following the relationship and that he was happy with someone else, the realization was hard to take.
“So many people can relate to the feeling of longing the intensity of relationships.
“In the track, I sing like I am on a mission that can’t fail.
“My wistful tones, full of romance that may not always get reciprocated, and the personal nature of the piece will see listeners foraging through their personal experiences of heartbreak.”
Following her career as an actress (starring in the French Glee-like TV show Chante) and as a dancer (for David Guetta and Prince) Doucet decided to focus on her love of music, learning to play the harp, piano, and guitar.
Her change of lane has become a welcome switch, which has seen her calming, yet majestic take on alternative-tinged folk-pop steal hearts across the globe.
‘You and I’ will undoubtedly have the same impact.
