Austin, TX’s The Myth Pool make their first official introduction with ‘In It Together’, an absorbing debut single that brings alt-rock influences, electronic soul and new-wave experimentation into the same wonderfully strange universe.
Formed by musicians Amie Penwell and Vicente Rodriguez, the project grew from a desire to rediscover the excitement of making music without worrying about genre, deadlines or commercial expectations. Working from a small apartment, the pair began experimenting with homemade loops, synths, vocals and whatever equipment happened to be available.
Beginning with an older Penwell demo and a simple GarageBand loop introduced by Rodriguez, ‘In It Together’ convinced the duo that their deliberately unrestricted approach could become something much bigger.
After years spent working within more traditional recording environments, The Myth Pool are now embracing patience, independence and instinct instead.
