A quartet from Doncaster, United Kingdom, Bang Bang Romeo have released their new single ‘Stone Cold Superstar.’
Formed in 2010, Bang Bang Romeo consists of Anastasia ‘Stars’ Walker (vocals), Richard Gartland (drummer), Ross Cameron (guitarist) and Richard Cook (bass and keyboards).
Anastasia began performing at 7 when she sang Abba’s ‘Dancing Queen’ at the local pub’s karaoke night and went on to do her first gig on her own aged 14 at The Vintage Rockbar in Doncaster.
They can count both Sky News’s Stephen Dixon and global pop superstar P!nk as fans with the latter personally inviting them to open for her on every night of her European stadium tour which included two-sold out nights at Wembley Stadium in London.
The intro hits you right in-between the ears as a heavy drum-beat and driven bass kicks off proceedings before lead vocalist Anastasia Walker appears with her powerhouse voice with a dash of fiery attitude. The chorus is incredibly catchy and a real head banger – I am reminded of Fall Out Boy, whose brand of stadium rock has garnered them a loyal legion of fans.
Walker has a real emotion behind her voice and I think fans of American blues vocalist Beth Hart might appreciate her rock vocal tone. The song’s overall message of “more people need to realise that what they have inside them is power” is one that the world really needs right now.
The track is well-produced and I imagine it would be greeted with welcome arms by rock radio stations that will dig the anthemic chorus and first class musicianship.
It is no surprise then that not only have Bang Bang Romeo got a pending sold-out UK headline tour, but they have also been given the opportunity to perform a live acoustic set which will be broadcast on Live Nation’s Facebook live channels worldwide across the company’s territories.
In conclusion, ‘Stone Cold Superstar’ is quite simply a commanding modern rock song that will have people rocking out in their cars, homes and hopefully live music venues for months to come.
