Kenyan Afro-Pop artist Kash Kaaria has unveiled her latest single, ‘Si Unipende’ (which translates to ‘Why Don’t You Love Me’ in Swahili), showcasing her vibrant and eclectic sound. Drawing inspiration from her Swahili African roots, Kash Kaaria combines rich rhythms and melodies with electronic beats, resulting in a harmonious fusion of classical and futuristic elements.

‘Si Unipende’ exemplifies Kash Kaaria’s unique style, incorporating afro-electronic elements with her soulful vocal performance that seamlessly weaves English and Swahili lyrics together. The track’s upbeat nature contrasts with its exploration of unrequited love. Featuring prominent Kenyan artist Ndovu Kuu, whose catchy and paradoxical verse perfectly complements Kash, this collaboration creates one of the summer’s standout songs. The duo strikes a perfect balance with their distinct styles, enhancing the track’s emotional depth.

Born and raised in Kenya and currently based in London, Kash Kaaria has captivated audiences with her performances at local events and festivals throughout her homeland. Notably, she delivered an electrifying opening act for Grammy award winner Koffee at Blankets and Wine in 2018. Continuously refining her sound, Kash delves into the depths of the human experience, exploring themes of love, self-discovery, and affirmations. Following the critical acclaim of her debut EP, ‘STRINGS ATTACHED,’ in 2021, Kash has been tirelessly working on her highly anticipated debut album, ‘Acme,’ which will be released in two volumes. This forthcoming album showcases her versatility and musical talent, promising a dynamic and innovative fusion of genres. ‘Si Unipende’ serves as a captivating preview, offering listeners a tantalizing taste of what’s to come.
