Reykjavik-based, surf-pop duo BSÍ share their new single “Vesturbæjar Beach”. Combining elements of pop, indie and lo-fi sounds, the single is a celebration of the first day of summer in the old Icelandic calendar. Jangly guitars and surfy beats turn this into a fun indie-pop single laced with humour.
The video that pairs the release sees the duo enjoying all things summer on a roundabout hit by huge winds – they’re also dancing while kids are playing football in beanie hats. Something feels very British about this.
The band’s debut album Sometimes depressed… but always antifacist is out next month.
