LOCK Magazine is pleased to be premiering the new music video from dream-pop band, Bad Idea, for their single ‘Winter’.
Based in Leeds, the four-piece band is comprised of Sarah Sefton (vocals/guitar), Daniel Johnson (drums/vocals), Liam Lambert (guitar) and Charles Peacock (bass/guitar). ‘Winter’ is the group’s latest release and it’s a fuzzy indie-punk track with effortlessly cool vocals from Sefton.
The track’s music video sees the band’s frontwoman, Sarah, walking through a frost covered Roundhay Park in Leeds.
Formed in 2016, Bad Idea released their debut EP I Just want To Go Home last year. Since then they have amassed almost 15,000 streams between Spotify and Bandcamp. The group have also supported the likes of PINS, Dream Wife and The Orielles.
Speaking about the visuals, Sarah says: “Recording the music video was fun, but very cold. Obviously we couldn’t do anything to hi-fi due to the pandemic, so myself and Daniel grabbed some props and dragged ourselves out to Roundhay Park in Leeds at 6am to film in freezing temperatures. The opening line (‘this winter’s been cruel’) felt pretty appropriate at this point. Between that and recording the song one-by-one in our friends basement between lockdowns, we’ve never felt more DIY.”
