Wired, weird & wonderfully whacky, ‘Otaku’ dives into full on dystopia, drenched with dazzling synths and dusted in dark dynamism.
Translated from Japanese, Otaku represents a sub culture of people who are obsessed with technology, anime and/or gaming, much to the detriment of their social skills. A unique and interesting take on the underground society, the pair showcase their incredible artistry and innate ability in crafting rare, exciting, forward thinking and gloriously explorative alternative pop music.
“We always want to be empathetic with our music. We know people who have become very focussed on something and then don’t ever go out, so it’s a situation that was born in Japan but we can still find it here – it’s not too far in my opinion.”
