Scottish all-girl rockers The Marches return with the electrifying, infectiously catchy yet melancholic new single ‘Come Back Around’, out 30th May via Revo Pro Records.
Since bursting onto the Ayrshire and Paisley scene in July 2024, the quartet has rapidly carved a name for themselves. Their fierce live energy and emotionally resonant songwriting have fuelled sold-out shows at Glasgow’s legendary Poetry Club, a headline slot at King Tut’s New Year Revolution festival, and airplay across UK radio. Now signed to Revo Pro Records and managed by One Roof Music, The Marches are primed for a standout 2025.
Their latest release, ‘Come Back Around’, distills everything that makes the band one to watch. It’s a shimmering slice of rock that blends nostalgic indie-pop sensibilities with intricate guitar work to create a track which floats between genres elegantly. Radiantly catchy yet emotionally textured, and musically complex, the track captures the band’s strength as both powerful performers and nuanced songwriters.
Sonically, ‘Come Back Around’ draws inspiration from the melodic richness of Fleetwood Mac whilst displaying a more current flair. Guitar lines comparable to Bloc Party with some soaring licks that bring an essence of classic rock over right drums and grounding bass creates a sound ultimately comparable to The Cardigans and The Cranberries.
Guitarist and songwriter Jane Jenkins offers insight into the track’s personal roots:
“I wrote this about five or six years ago. At the time, I was surrounded by musicians—seeing them gig, play in bands, and really live that creative life. I was desperate to be part of something like that myself, but I wasn’t gigging or in a band yet, and it was frustrating. The song came out of that feeling—just wanting to keep practicing, keep going, and hoping that something would eventually click. And thankfully, it did!”
Following the success of previous single ‘Feel It All’, accompanied by a debut video from acclaimed director Stuart Alexander, amassing over 46,000 views, the band have sold-out headline shows at SWG3 and built a reputation as one to watch. ‘Come Back Around’ marks the band’s fourth release and signals a confident step forward.
