London-based alternative R&B-pop artist Tala Yunis has announced her highly anticipated sophomore EP, All IN TIME, arriving on May 15th, alongside the release of its striking new single, ‘GOD’S FAVOURITE’.
Already attracting international attention through sync placements in Netflix hits Love Is Blind and Ginny & Georgia, Yunis continues her rapid ascent as one of the UK’s most compelling emerging voices, blending alternative pop, R&B and intimate songwriting into a sound that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant.
Born Palestinian, raised in Israel and now based in London, Yunis embodies a new generation of globally minded artists whose music is shaped by lived experience. Having relocated to the UK at the age of 21 to pursue a career in music, she has steadily built a reputation for emotionally raw songwriting that explores identity, migration, belonging and self-discovery.
As an openly LGBTQ+ artist, Yunis brings a distinctive perspective to contemporary pop. Her Palestinian heritage and Israeli upbringing place her at a unique cultural crossroads, allowing her music to move beyond political discourse and instead focus on shared human experiences through vulnerability, honesty and storytelling.
Her latest single, ‘GOD’S FAVOURITE’, offers an enticing preview of the sonic direction of All IN TIME. Blending confessional bedroom-pop aesthetics with alternative R&B production, the track pairs shimmering Auto-Tuned vocal melodies with layered acoustic guitars, lo-fi percussion, atmospheric synths and weighty basslines. The result is a polished yet emotionally charged anthem that captures both resilience and self-belief.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Yunis said, “Most creatives who chase a bigger calling experience days where inspiration hits and they feel on top of the world, only to hit rock bottom the next day. God’s Favourite captures the journey of creatives striving for something greater, where, on the road to glory, they find themselves facing hurdles, doubts and little belief. Yet that little belief is enough to get them up the next day and try again.
I wrote God’s Favourite at a time when I felt this might never happen for me, but the little belief I had was enough for me to hold on and write God’s Favourite for all those who are on the same path as me.”
Drawing inspiration from artists including Dominic Fike, SZA and 070 Shake, Yunis has crafted All IN TIME as a reflection of artistic evolution. The EP explores love, heartbreak, personal growth and cultural identity while embracing a richer alternative R&B sound than her previous work.
Explaining the creative shift behind the project, Yunis said, “While making this EP, my priority was to move away from indie music sonically and reconnect with the sounds I grew up on. I’ll always love indie, but it was heavily shaped by my time in Brighton. After moving to London, I felt ready to experiment with styles and genres I genuinely listen to, drawing inspiration from artists like Justin Bieber’s 2014 era, SZA and 070 Shake.
This EP is about giving listeners a raw, more mature version of me. Over the past couple of years, I’ve really outgrown my old identity and become more comfortable with my sexuality and how I present myself. That growth shaped everything — lyrically and sonically. I wanted the music to reflect who I am now, honestly and unapologetically, and to let people truly feel that evolution through the songs.”
The announcement follows a breakthrough period for the independent artist. In 2024, Yunis received editorial recognition with an interview in The Face, earned support from Spotify UK’s Fresh Finds editorial playlist and continued to build her live reputation following an appearance at The Great Escape, backing from BBC Introducing and a string of sold-out headline shows in Brighton.
With All IN TIME, Tala Yunis appears poised to take another significant step forward. Combining genre-fluid production with fearless songwriting and a story that spans cultures, identities and borders, the EP promises to establish her as one of alternative pop’s most exciting new voices.
The new EP All IN TIME is set to release May 15th.
