Cult UK alternative outfit Tabitha Zu are bringing one of their defining early releases into the digital era with the long-awaited streaming release of ‘Heard It Before’, out now via Eira Records. Originally issued in 1991 as part of a split 7-inch alongside fellow TLF label artists Homage Freaks, the track captures the band at their most fierce and untamed.

Driven by crashing intensity, hazy melodic textures and punk-fuelled urgency, ‘Heard It Before’ quickly became a standout within the early 90s underground scene. The single gained support from influential music press including NME, Sounds and Melody Maker, eventually climbing to No.15 on the UK Indie Chart.

The reissue also arrives with a newly assembled video featuring unseen live clips and rare archival imagery from the band’s touring years. Fronted by Melanie Garside, Tabitha Zu built a formidable reputation through relentless live performances, sharing stages with artists including Nirvana, Public Enemy and Nick Cave during Reading Festival 1992.

Following the recent digital revival of ‘On Reality’, the return of ‘Heard It Before’ further reintroduces Tabitha Zu’s uncompromising sound to a new generation of listeners.
