Seema Farswani brings cultures and continents together on ‘Born To Fly’, an uplifting cinematic soft-rock anthem celebrating courage, possibility and the freedom of girls and women to dream without limits.
Created through a collaboration spanning Singapore and Mumbai, the track pairs soaring rock guitars with sitar, Hindi vocals and sweeping contemporary production. She co-produced the song alongside Rishabh Sharma, whose guitar work gives it much of its scale and momentum.
Mumbai musician Ananya Wadkar contributes expressive sitar alongside Hindi and backing vocals, while Singapore-based classically trained singer Shania Tan adds further vocal textures.
The song’s beginnings can be traced to The Voices Unseen, a Singapore charity concert supporting people with visual impairments and women’s empowerment. From there, she developed its central message into an encouragement to find your voice, believe in possibility and keep reaching beyond the horizon.
‘Born To Fly’ is an ambitious meeting of Western rock and South Asian musical traditions, transforming its message of empowerment into something suitably expansive.
