Ruby Dice, a native of Colorado who now calls Texas home, has been playing music for as long as she can remember. She started playing music when she was young and moved to Texas at the age of 22 to pursue a career in music. She has developed her musical skills over the years by playing bass in several bands, honing her songwriting skills, and earning the acclaim she deserves for her musical prowess. At this time, she began giving live performances across the nation, sharing the stage with musicians like Brian Wilson, Dale Watson, and many more.
After the COVID-19 epidemic struck the whole world, Ruby Dice focused more on her musical career. While collaborating with artists like Gordy Quist from the Band of Heathens, she began composing the songs for her debut album, Not In Love. It’s an examination of love and heartbreak all wrapped up in one CD, written by a musician about the ups and downs of her relationship with her guitarist and former fiancé Calloway Ritch.
Along with the release of the album, her brand-new single ‘Move On Cowboy’ has a lighthearted production that reflects a genre mashup of Americana and country. The track is about a man who insisted on dancing after she exited the stage and wouldn’t accept her refusal. At the finishing school, she cut this song with Gordy Quist handling the production. Speaking on the track, Ruby Dice mentions, “‘Move on Cowboy’ is a song about standing your ground when someone is being a bully and doing it in a witty way.”
The ten songs on Ruby Dice’s soulful rock ‘n’ roll first album are a reflection of love and heartache as well as the experiences and lessons that go along with it. The plot describes the singer-songwriter’s ten-year journey through life. Demonstrating the highs and lows of a professional musician. Chaos and love. Blending danceable beats with ear-catching tunes that will get any listener moving. She looks forward to showcasing her inherent talents and continued growth as a musician on this full-length with enthusiasm. She says of the album, “This record is a journey of self-discovery through love and chaos.”
