23-year-old rising Neo-soul solo artist Tammie, also known as TheButterflyGrl, is making waves with her second single, ‘Hello Sunshine’ having already gained support from the likes of BBC Radio 6 Music and Jazz FM.

Blending elements of jazz, neo-soul, and R&B, Tammie’s sound is vibrant yet understated, rich yet retaining a radiant commercial edge. The track opens with an infectiously soulful upright piano chord progression, leading into Tammie’s buttery-smooth vocal hook and the title lyric, ‘Hello Sunshine.’ A trumpet motif, underpinned by deep bass and understated drums, introduces a buoyant beauty to the track. In this uplifting anthem, Tammie sings about the sunshine finding her and pulling her out from the darkness, revealing that “everything is as it’s supposed to be.” As the song progresses, subtle strings and layers of shuffling drums create a silky smooth soundscape leading into an instrumental climax.

The single is produced by Grammy-nominated and Billboard-charting producer The 25th Hour (Andrew Gowie) and mastered by multi-platinum mastering engineer Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road Studios, showcasing the collaborative excellence behind this rising star’s music.

Describing the record, Tammie says, “It’s a celebration song—to rejoice the brighter times in life, and to never take them for granted, hence: ‘I better love you, before you’re gone again’… because just as the sun is promised, so too is the rain.”

Looking ahead, Tammie is set to release her 5-track debut EP, Vol.1: METAMORPHOSIS, before the end of summer 2024, with further single releases expected before the top of the year.

With ‘Hello Sunshine,’ Tammie continues to carve out her place in the neo-soul scene, delivering a sound that is both fresh and timeless, and affirming her status as one to watch.
