With her first official outing, San Francisco’s Reya Riu drifts into view with her mesmerising debut single ‘Say It’.
Bathed in glowing synths and ambient hues, the track floats somewhere between alt-pop and modern soul. Reya’s voice is the centrepiece, gliding effortlessly over a bed of hazy textures and subtle rhythms. There’s restraint in the production, but that’s what makes the song truly breathe.
As far as debut statements go, Reya Riu invites us into her world, one where vulnerability is strength and softness doesn’t mean weakness. This is music made for still moments and open hearts, and if ‘Say It’ is just the first page in Reya’s story, the rest is certainly going to be worth waiting for.
