Rebecca Downes has never been one to play it safe, and ‘A Storm Is Coming’ feels like her most fearless step yet. Across ten tracks, the Birmingham-based powerhouse channels heartbreak, endurance, and self-reclamation into a record that roars as much as it soothes.
From the opening title-track, she makes her intentions clear that this is an album built on strength and stormlight. Her vocals are a gale in themselves, cutting through the guitar grit and Hammond organ warmth crafted by longtime collaborator Steve Birkett.
