‘beautiful life’ opens things up with a rush of optimism, while ‘body bag’ pulls the sound into darker, heavier territory. At the centre of it all is ‘bubblegum with razorblades’, easily one of the EP’s most memorable statements. The title alone feels like a perfect summary of her appeal: bright and playful on the surface, but with enough edge underneath to stop things becoming predictable. Its hook lands quickly, but the sharper emotional undercurrent gives the track real staying power.
But what makes ‘she’s too much!’ especially exciting is the sense that she’s already beginning to understand exactly what makes her stand out.
