For the last three decades, San Francisco’s Patti Zlaket has been a ubiquitous force in the music industry, crafting songs with both emotional depth and striking sincerity. Now as she prepares for the next chapter of her career with a brand new album on the horizon, she takes a moment to look back for a series of fully remastered deluxe reissues, kicking off with her remastered version of her seminal outing ‘The Promise’.
Originally recorded in Los Angeles at The Village, this reissue breathes new life into the album that first introduced Zlaket’s rich storytelling and expressive vocals. Remastered by Blake Morgan (Lenny Kravitz, Janita, Lesley Gore), this new rendition features never-before-heard material, including the poignant ‘Somewhere Down The Tracks’, continuing to add breadth and levity to her original recordings after all these years.
While fans of her work to date will no doubt look upon these new renditions with fond appreciation, Zlaket is also bringing something new and interesting to her catalogue, allowing those just discovering her work to find something passionate in which to explore.
Maintaining the crystalline approach to both her vocals and production remains the hallmark of this new release. Rekindling that same fire she once burned with and injecting a refreshing approach to its direction, this new collection acts as the perfect precursor to her upcoming new material later this year as well.
