Over these last few years, LA’s Clay And Kelsy have been quick to establish themselves as one of the more innovative outfits on the rise. Combining this lofty approach to the synth-pop aesthetic, intertwined with their mesmerising songwriting at every turn, the duo have earned a solid reputation for rich and passionate gems ever since they first emerged. And with this year proving another winning run of form for them, they are now looking to see it out with their latest EP ‘I Am’, a collection that brings together some of their more emotive material yet.

Featuring the previously shared efforts ‘I Miss You’ and ‘Memories Of Me’, this new five-track collection finds them in this wonderfully explorative guise, building upon the dynamic foundations they have been forging up until now. With their breathtaking vocals performances layered across this immersive production at every turn, ‘I Am’ delivers a beautifully warm and embracing texture that is hard to shake once it gets under your skin. Whether they adopt a more anthemic approach or something more sombre, Clay And Kelsy always manage to keep the interest and evocative nature of the EP as high as it will possibly go.

It has certainly been a busy time for the pair in recent years, but ‘I Am’ shows there is still plenty of adventurous spirit coursing through them right now. Oozing with this urgent sense of vibrancy from beginning to end, they remain a true force to be reckoned with right now.
