After turning heads earlier this year with her soulful single ‘what’s love?’, rising Mexican-born, Texas-raised artist Sara Ángel is back with her boldest release yet. ‘Viper’ is a seductive, hard-hitting pop cut that dives into the allure of revisiting toxic relationships. With sleek grooves, cinematic polish, and traces of her Latin and R&B roots woven into moody synths and sharp production, the track marks one of Sara’s most potent offerings to date.
At just 22, Sara Angel is already carving out her lane in the alt-pop space, following in the footsteps of her musical lineage, the daughter of Priscila Angel and Los Temerarios’ frontman Gustavo Angel, while building her own community of over 300k fans across social platforms. Since debuting in 2023 with ‘Creo Que Voy A Llorar’, she has gone from strength to strength, each release sharpening her songwriting and expanding her creative reach.
Now, with ‘Viper’ out in the world and more music on the horizon, Sara Angel is stepping into her moment. We sat down with her to talk about temptation, transformation, and where she’s headed next.

Can you tell us a bit about your musical background and how you got started in music?
I grew up surrounded by music, so it’s always been a part of me. I started writing songs in third grade, and little by little it became the way I processed my emotions
Who are some of your biggest musical influences, both past and present?
Kacey Musgraves is someone who I started really looking up to as I got a bit older. I am just a huge fan of her storytelling… and Selena has always been someone I look up to for the way she connected with people through her music.
Are there any specific artists or bands that have had a significant impact on your music style or approach?
I think my sound has slowly shifted and adapted to who I am the day I get in the studio. We’ve never really taken a specific artist as a reference but I can certainly say I love all the pop girlies. Ariana is in there, SZA, even Danny Ocean.
Could you share any memorable moments or experiences that have shaped your musical journey so far?
I performed an acoustic set at Soho House a couple of months ago and it was one of my favorite performances because it felt so intimate and personal. Performing acoustic is definitely something I love and look forward to.
How do you express your personal experiences and identity through your music?
Most songs I write come from something I’ve lived or felt. But I will say, not every song is necessarily about me. I tend to get inspired by experiences other people share with me. I start writing about them and then find myself adapting them to something I can also relate to.
Have you faced any challenges or obstacles as a female musician, and if so, how have you overcome them?
It can be tough to be taken seriously sometimes, but I’ve learned to trust my instincts, stay true to my vision, and surround myself with people who genuinely believe in me.
Are there any particular themes or messages that you aim to convey through your music?
My music often explores love and heartbreak, but underneath it all it’s really always been about healing.
Can you talk about your creative process and how you go about writing and producing your music?
It usually begins with a lyric or melody that comes to me, and I build from there. Sometimes songs come quickly, other times they take their time, but the emotion always leads the process.
How do you hope your music will resonate with your audience, especially with other aspiring female musicians?
I don’t make music to be perfect, I make it to be real. My hope is that people, especially women in this industry, hear that honesty and realize they don’t have to fit a mold to be impactful.
