Stepping into the spotlight with bold conviction, Jade LauriAni makes a radiant return with her latest single ‘Flying High’. Blending EDM, R&B, and jazz into a polished, uplifting anthem, the Detroit-born artist channels resilience and self-belief, crafting a track that soars with both beauty and purpose.
Featuring contributions from Flo.Von, Max Metzinge, and Tim Klein, the single layers vibrant melodies with lyrics about overcoming obstacles and chasing goals no matter the circumstances.
So with the new single out now, we caught up with Jade LauriAni to talk about her journey so far, and how she’s channelling her artistry to inspire others.

Can you tell us a bit about your musical background and how you got started in music?
Hmm musical background, well like most I was raised in the church. I came from a creative family, and my mother was the choir director. Having said that, I still wouldn’t say it was easy; I had big shoes to fill in terms of both writing and singing, but the more difficult the task, the greater the personal gain! I was first exposed to harmonies in the choir when I was very young. In elementary school, I began fusing my passion of music with writing, which led to opportunities.Ghost writing was my first true introduction to the music industry; working with fellow writers in a real recording studio was just the beginning of what you all see today. My mentor at the time asked when I would release a project with my own vocals after I had ghostwritten and performed for others’ works. And now, two years later, here we are.
Who are some of your biggest musical influences, both past and present?
Past (Tarralyn Ramsey, Carmen McRae, Dinah Washington, Nancy Wilson and Michael Franks) Present (Sondae,Madison Ryann Ward and Annatoria) the list is longer but I don’t know if we have time for all of them..
Are there any specific artists or bands that have had a significant impact on your music style or approach?
Nancy Wilson (showed me timing and patience)
Dinah Washington and Tarralyn Ramsey (showed me what range and control can do)
Intro.,Take6 and Mint Condition (My favorite groups) (showed me how I can paint using my vocals).
These are just a few but every artist I’ve named today has sparked something meaningful to me and in some way.
Could you share any memorable moments or experiences that have shaped your musical journey so far?
I have a few, but for me, Usher, the legend, was the beginning of it all. In addition to being my first performance, he was also the first tour I had ever participated in. They contacted my mom and said, “Bring her back in the morning,” on my second day of working for his non-profit. I will never forget the first day, which was like a talent show. In any case, it was his OMG tour, and we saw how a tour was constructed and how the warm-ups unfolded.It blew my mind to see how much money, time, and effort goes into a full blow performance and after that I knew I wanted to hear pieces I’ve done to grace that same stage.
How do you express your personal experiences and identity through your music?
Vulnerability, I discovered that my sense of emotions was never very strong. I would frequently push them away or ignore them. When it got to be too much, I broke down in tears and prayed to God while I was in a deep depression. At the time, I felt inadequate. I thought that without me, everything would have gone more smoothly. But God was there when I was at my lowest! I began transforming the feelings I couldn’t figure out how to express into paintings or music. To address your question completely, my music is a reflection of my trust in God. True meaning is now the focus, when before it was whatever sounded good.
Have you faced any challenges or obstacles as a female musician, and if so, how have you overcome them?
Regretfully, constantly. It’s unfortunate that some male studio heads only take other men seriously these days. It’s always a tuck in a war, regardless of your past achievements. For this reason, I currently only record at home.
Are there any particular themes or messages that you aim to convey through your music?
No matter what you can and will overcome. Move by faith not by sight!
Can you talk about your creative process and how you go about writing and producing your music?
Hmm, I can’t reveal all of my secrets, but I listen to the song’s vibe until a word or idea strikes me and I take action. After coming up with a subject or chorus, I proceed to the harmony or melody. Then the verses came next. After that, I record a few runs on my phone, listen to it the following day with new ears, and record again if I feel good.
How do you hope your music will resonate with your audience, especially with other aspiring female musicians?
I simply pray it helps others who want to feel or be seen. I hope that after hearing my music, someone will have the courage to make it another day. Aspiring artists, I hope you never give up on yourself because, despite the crazy world we live in, there are always people out there that need to see you to ignite their passion, so keep going.
