Lenush Saf makes a confident return to music with ‘Lipstick’, a sleek, hypnotic dance-pop single that signals the beginning of a new creative chapter for the Armenian artist, and we premiere it here at LOCK.

Balancing club-ready production with a more intimate vocal approach, the track introduces the sonic direction of her forthcoming debut solo album, due in 2027.

Built around an infectious groove, dynamic synth textures and Saf’s versatile vocal delivery, ‘Lipstick’ moves between understated restraint and dancefloor intensity. Its polished production gives the track an immediate sense of momentum, while subtle cultural influences woven into the chorus and electronic arrangements add a more personal dimension to its contemporary pop framework. The result is a release that feels equally suited to late-night listening and the dancefloor, with Saf establishing a distinct identity within an increasingly expansive pop landscape.

The single also represents a significant return for an artist whose relationship with music stretches back to her early years in Yerevan. Raised in an Armenian family, Saf studied piano and singing before recording her first demos as a teenager. Her earliest original releases, ‘Refugee’ and ‘Ghost’, arrived in 2008 following a signing with an international record label, before her professional life expanded into digital communications and fashion. Music, however, remained a constant throughout those different paths.

That experience now informs a renewed creative direction. Describing her return to the studio as the result of a series of encounters and coincidences, Saf sees ‘Lipstick’ as the starting point for a wider project that will develop through further singles ahead of her debut album in 2027. A visual accompaniment is also in production with artistic director Raoul Paulet, extending the aesthetic vision surrounding this new era.

‘Lipstick’ establishes the foundations for Saf’s next phase with a sound that brings together contemporary dance-pop, personal influences and a renewed commitment to songwriting. Rather than treating her return as a simple continuation of the past, the single positions it as an opportunity to explore what comes next.
