East London artist Lola Wild delivers her most cinematic release yet with ‘Bonnie & Clyde’, a spectacular fusion of psychedelic alt-rock, vintage soul and Spaghetti Western drama.
Written and produced by Wild, the single pairs Ennio Morricone-inspired guitars with driving Motown rhythms and soaring retro vocals, creating a wonderfully vivid backdrop for a tale of doomed romance, devotion and two lovers chasing an impossible freedom.
Remarkably, its origins stretch back a decade to a surreal poem she wrote while immersed in The Doors. Rediscovering it years later alongside influences including The Supremes, Martha and the Vandellas and Natalie Bergman gave the idea an entirely new direction. She subsequently recorded the live instrumentation with her band before sending the track to Texas-based Steve Stout for mixing.
Following ‘On and On’ and 2025 EP Lost Signal, ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ is another thrilling step towards Lola Wild’s debut album in 2027.
