Nashville’s Jessi Robertson releases ‘Shadow War Singularity’, a powerful rework of her Dark Matter track ‘Shadow War’, created in collaboration with Aaron Berg of Mountainwalker. The single is the first in a series of reimagined songs forming the Dark Matter Singularity Series, expanding the emotional universe of her 2025 album.
Inspired by mythic and literary figures like Frankenstein and the golem, ‘Shadow War Singularity’ reflects on the internal battle of self-doubt and alienation, challenging the ways we distance ourselves from others and from our own humanity.
Originally from upstate New York, Jessi Robertson is known for her fearless songwriting and commanding vocal presence, with a style that recalls artists like Kate Bush, PJ Harvey, and Stevie Nicks. Following her diagnosis as autistic, Dark Matter became an intimate exploration of otherness through a cosmic lens. Now, with this new series, she continues that journey, opening her music to dialogue and transformation.
