New York-based singer-songwriter Jay Miners, has today released her brand new single ‘Strawberry Mountain’, alongside a handwritten lyric video.
The dreamy, slow-burning track is taken from her forthcoming EP, which is currently untitled, but slated for a 2019 release.
The song, which was produced by Jerry Jean at Vocal Artist House, sees Miners lyrically-document a couple’s pilgrimage to a place called Strawberry Mountain; a sentimental and regular setting to which both of the relationship’s parties are emotionally attached.
But she is also questioning both the positive and negative impact creating art can have on a relationship.
As she angelically sings ”forgive me for being so tired”, over a beautifully-tender arrangement of subtle electric guitar and swelling bells, you can’t help but feel her tiredness is a result of the late nights she’s likely spent perfecting a vocal melody or a guitar line; unintentionally neglecting her partner and their relationship in the process.
