LA-based alt-pop project GOODTWIN have returned with their latest single ‘Roadside’, the second release from their forthcoming debut EP ‘Soft Serve’.

Led by singer-songwriter Augusta ‘Gus’ Alexander, the project combines atmospheric instrumentation, warm melodies and retro soul influences, drawing inspiration from artists including Fleetwood Mac, Men I Trust and Cocteau Twins.

‘Roadside’ began as an instrumental written by multi-instrumentalist Brandon Ronquillo several years ago before being revisited by the group. Inspired by the track’s dreamy atmosphere, Gus developed lyrics centred around the imagery of driving along an open highway, with passing lights and open windows capturing a sense of freedom and escapism.

The single offers another preview of GOODTWIN’s four-track debut EP ‘Soft Serve’, which is scheduled for release this autumn.
