Miist’s path into music began later than most artists. Songwriting entered her life during her thirties as a way to process difficult experiences that included childhood abandonment and a life-threatening illness in her twenties.
Today that journey has evolved into a growing body of work centered on emotional resilience and connection.
Her latest release, “Love Will Show Us Our Way,” marks the beginning of a new creative chapter. The single launches The Love Project, Miist’s initiative for 2026 exploring the impact of everyday compassion.
The accompanying video draws from real-life moments submitted by fans. Earlier this year Miist invited listeners around the world to share clips showing acts of kindness in their daily lives.
The response arrived from multiple continents. Scenes filmed in homes, classrooms, hospitals, and public spaces now appear throughout the video.
Rather than presenting a traditional performance, the video unfolds as a mosaic of human interaction. Each segment highlights a small gesture that reflects the song’s message.
“Love Will Show Us Our Way” was written with Mauro Malavasi, an Italian songwriter and producer whose credits include Andrea Bocelli’s Romanza. Their collaboration brings a sense of quiet reflection to the track.
Miist first gained widespread attention during her Smile Project in 2025. That initiative grew from the song “Could You Lend Me a Smile,” which was inspired by the story of a young man in Tokyo who died alone and remained undiscovered for weeks.
The project expanded into a global collaboration that included artists connected to over 60 GRAMMY wins and nominations. The song was eventually recorded in 16 languages.
Beyond music, Miist has developed several platforms that explore similar themes. Her podcast Make Me Smile with Miist blends personal stories, research, and music while encouraging listeners to practice small acts of kindness.
Each episode ends with a brief suggestion called a “15-second action.” These prompts encourage listeners to reach out to someone, express gratitude, or take a small step toward improving a relationship.
Those ideas will soon appear in Miist’s forthcoming book Make Me Smile with Miist®, which translates the podcast’s themes into short, accessible chapters.
Her nonprofit organization, the World Smile Initiative, also carries the concept into daily life. One of its tools, the Kindness Kube™, offers rotating prompts encouraging kindness and appreciation.
Miist has collaborated with producers and musicians connected to dozens of GRAMMY awards and nominations. She also became the first native Chinese artist to reach Billboard’s Top 25 Pop/AC chart.
With The Love Project now underway, Miist continues shaping a creative ecosystem that blends music, storytelling, and community participation.
