With the release of her new single “All You Need Is Lust,” Elise Trouw has delivered a striking music video that blurs comedy, discomfort, and surrealist art. Directed by Trouw, the visual presentation features unsettling but humourous imagery including disembodied breasts and absurd choreography, all inspired by the chaotic energy of Bosch’s paintings.
The video introduces the fictional character Elon Lust, a satirical embodiment of male entitlement created from real-life remarks and experiences. The concept provides the backbone for Trouw’s upcoming project, The Diary of Elon Lust, due February 13th.
The track itself relies on a minimal, hypnotic beat, contrasting its cool atmosphere with lyrics designed to highlight contradictions in modern masculinity. Together, the music and video form a sharp critique of performative progressiveness and misogyny.
