Berlin-based indie artist Efro returns with the vibrant new single ‘Run To The Sun’, out now and marking the first release in a run of new music planned throughout the second half of 2026.
Built around biting guitar tones, vintage-inspired production and an effortlessly cool lo-fi aesthetic, ‘Run To The Sun’ draws inspiration from the psychedelic spirit of The Velvet Underground, the raw edge of The Strokes and PJ Harvey, while embracing the laid-back coastal warmth of artists such as Sun Room and Dope Lemon. The result is a breezy, surf-leaning indie rock track that captures the feeling of endless summer.
Clocking in at under three minutes, the single combines sun-drenched guitar riffs, garage-rock textures and understated vocals into a perfectly formed feel-good anthem. Beneath its relaxed exterior lies a carefully crafted blend of 60s and 70s rock influences with Efro’s instinctive indie sensibilities, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and distinctly personal.
Speaking about the single, Efro explains: “This song came intuitively to me, I picked up my guitar while daydreaming about summer days at the beach in places far away, while feeling stuck in snowy and cold Berlin. I started playing around with the lead guitar and everything clicked together. While we were in the studio the drums and bass all just came naturally. No specific plan in mind, just a vibe we wanted to capture.”
Originally from Athens, Efro studied in Brighton before relocating to Berlin, developing a distinctive sound that merges indie garage rock energy with sun-soaked, surf-inspired textures. Their debut EP, Year of Yearning, established an early identity rooted in indie rock nostalgia and emotional directness, laying the groundwork for a growing catalogue shaped by introspection, melody and instinctive songwriting.
