London-based singer-songwriter, Ches Barrow, has revealed new single “Girl Who Ruled The World” which is taken from her debut EP of the same name.
The track features atmospheric beats, lush synths and melodic hooks.
Speaking about the track, Barrow says: “The lyrics play on innocence, ego, power; badass. It’s my antithesis: I’m the good girl. She’s my rebellion. Writing this allowed me to feel powerful back when I would hide in the music room at school. And now, over a decade later, she gave me that gift again when I re-wrote the first verse to instead lean into what people think I am in the absence of being truly understood. She’s both the wildest corners of my imagination and yet, the truest thing I know.”
