Bryony Dunn returns with the beautiful and bold new single ‘Purified’.
Taken from the upcoming EP ‘Spring In The City’, the alt-pop solo artist once again showcases her abilities to craft spellbinding, vibrant and melancholic gems, packed with emotional and sonic depth on the new single.
Opening with a glitchy, plucky synth and boxy drums, Bryony’s silky, captivating and effortlessly emotive lead vocals are given space to shine. The track’s breezy and bright atmosphere is enhanced by spacious reverbs which surround the soaring vocal as the track enters its earworm chorus as the shuffling beats gradually grow and swelling synths appear from the periphery.
Carefully crafted, effortlessly transitioning from its sumptuous verses to the infectious chorus before building up to a vibrant, explosive climax. This dynamic progression keeps the track moving forward with a driving sense of purpose.
Speaking about the single, Bryony explains:
“Purified grew from a conversation with my dear friends Grace Jackson and Taka George about a friend of mine who was struggling to let go of the things that were getting them down.
The song flowed out of us and became about our own experiences and the experiences of our friends, reassuring each other that life is pure and good at the heart of it. We all need to let go of the darkness we carry, through dancing all night, through swimming with friends in a cold river, through dmc’s late at night on the kitchen floor.”
Taken from Bryony’s upcoming EP, ‘Spring in the City,’ ‘Purified’ sets the tone for the warm and sun-soaked soundscapes that await. It is evident that Bryony’s talent and artistry continue to evolve, promising an exciting future for this talented up and comer.
