Canadian singer-songwriter Becca Stefanson marks the release of her debut EP ‘Going Forward, Looking Back’ with the arrival of its emotional centrepiece, ‘How I Feel’. Built around delicate fingerpicked guitar and understated vocals, the track showcases a young artist already displaying remarkable confidence in storytelling and atmosphere.

Rooted in folk-country traditions while carrying the intimacy of modern singer-songwriter music, ‘How I Feel’ leans into vulnerability without ever becoming overworked. Her soft delivery allows the song’s lyrical detail to do the heavy lifting, creating a sense of closeness that feels almost conversational as it plays.

Written as her first attempt at fingerpicking, the single captures the emotional uncertainty that comes with longing for something slipping out of reach. Here, she channels the heartbreak stories she has absorbed from others, imagining herself inside those moments and translating them into something deeply relatable.

Raised in Pitt Meadows, Becca Stefanson has spent recent months developing her live presence through open mic performances, steadily refining both her songwriting and connection with audiences. ‘Going Forward, Looking Back’ now arrives as a strong first statement from an artist already finding clarity in her voice.
