Rooted in her jazz background, the track glides effortlessly through glowing piano, a bossa nova-inspired bass and drum groove and a wonderfully expressive vocal performance. Moving from playful intimacy towards soaring melodic peaks, ‘Ever Since’ feels light on its feet while carrying a deeper exploration of purpose, creativity and rediscovering the person you were meant to become.
The song first emerged through improvisation while she was living in the jungles of Kauaʻi, with its melody and lyrics arriving almost simultaneously. That spontaneity remains beautifully present in the finished recording, giving the track an organic, free-flowing character.
