Few artists are building a creative universe quite like Ana Schurmann, and her brilliant new single ‘Peacemakers’ might be the clearest expression of her boundary-breaking vision yet.
Here, the Brazilian-born composer’s self-produced track is an ambitious collision of music, science, design and humanitarian purpose. She performs across ten instruments, including piano, guitars, flutes and percussion, while also incorporating her remarkable Neck Lyre, an instrument that doubles as a piece of haute jewellery.
Beyond its soaring cinematic character, ‘Peacemakers’ carries a message of unity and compassion, with the project supporting awareness around Lar Recanto do Carinho and its work with vulnerable children.
It arrives after she took her multidisciplinary approach into genuinely fascinating territory with The Scientific Symphony of the Universe, translating authentic gravitational-wave observations into musical structures and presenting the project alongside researchers connected with Brazil’s Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica.
