God, what a year. 2020 has been truly something, hasn’t it? If you’re reading this, well done for making it through this far.
Rachael Sage has something up her bell sleeves for us as a treat for staying strong and sticking with a year in which the music industry has imploded and tried to rebuild itself from the ground up once again – in celebration of the release of her heart-wrenchingly poignant track ‘Home’, Meredith Tarr of MPress Records helped to bring together footage of Sage’s fans enjoying the song whilst practicing a variety of hobbies at home in lockdown.
It’s a beautiful illustration of the strength of the human spirit and shows exactly what we can achieve when we put our minds to it. Ballet, playing instruments, roller skating, lip syncing and more all feature in this beautifully made video which pays homage to Sage’s all-encompassing fanbase, and their strength in being able to thrive during an immensely difficult year.
The queer community features heavily in the video, as Sage herself is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. The inclusivity of her music and the messages within both her fanbase and her music mean that this video can truly be seen to be a safe and comforting space. It’s a beautiful way to end a horrible year, proving that love and joy and creativity can triumph even in the darkest of times.
