PREMIERE: Vissia’s ‘Walk Me Home’ is the sound of an artist completely comfortable with every facet of her being

LOCK is proud to host the exclusive audio premiere for VISSIA’s new track, ‘Walk Me Home’, a beautifully performed ballad which sees the talented musician admit her own vulnerability even as she presents herself as stronger than ever.

The luscious piano-led ballad by alt-pop artist VISSIA is the sound of an artist completely comfortable with every facet of her being. The confidence in this artist’s voice to admit her own vulnerability in such an overt way makes for a truly captivating release, putting VISSIA firmly on the Ones To Watch list.

Reminiscent of Adele, the vocals in VISSIA’s new track are heartfelt and impressive, betraying the humanity behind her strong exterior. In her own words, “It’s not a weakness to need someone to lean on. It’s okay to be kind to the messiest parts of myself. It’s taken me a long time to forgive my past selves.” The journey which VISSIA has been on is evident in her lyrical style, both as a homage to her past and a healing step towards the future as the song itself.

The significance of this song is not lost on VISSIA, who believes that the spiritual teachers of Ram Dass may have subconsciously influenced her songwriting, “It wasn’t until a couple of months later that I realized that the song I’d just written shared the same sentiment as a beloved Ram Dass quote; we’re all just walking each other home. Maybe I had forgotten about reading it before? I don’t believe in coincidence, so however it found its way from my subconscious and onto the page is not really all that important to me.”

Whatever the inspiration behind this belter of a song, it is undeniable that VISSIA is a songwriting and performing force to be reckoned with. By incorporating spiritual practice into song, VISSIA takes a definitive step forward in her journey as a musician, whilst simultaneously taking steps forward to heal herself as a person in one fell swoop. A triumph.
